The jet stream is dipping southwards, bringing fresher conditions with stronger winds and heavy showers, potentially thundery with hail, particularly over the north. Low pressure dominates, with several cold fronts moving southeastwards across the UK, dropping temperatures and driving scattered showers. Brighter and drier conditions follow behind these fronts this afternoon. Temperatures ranging between mid teens in the north and low twenties in the south.
