An attacker drove a car at people outside a synagogue in Manchester on Thursday before stabbing bystanders — killing two and wounding three on Yom Kippur, police said.
Greater Manchester Police reported the suspect was believed to be dead after being shot by officers, though confirmation was delayed amid fears he carried an explosive device. A bomb disposal team was at the scene.
