NOW:Labour MP Jess Phillips under PRESSUR£ to RES!GN after Grooming Gangs INQUIRY COLLAPSES in CHAOS

Politics LIVE: Labour Minister Faces Calls to Resign Over Grooming Gangs Controversy

There is increasing pressure on a Home Office minister to step down due to the grooming gangs issue. Four women who resigned from the victims liaison panel of the national grooming gangs inquiry have indicated they might reconsider if safeguarding minister Jess Phillips resigns. In a striking letter to Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood, they stated that Ms. Phillips had described some of their claims as “untrue,” despite their provision of evidence to the contrary. One of the women, Ellie-Ann Reynolds, noted that her pivotal moment came when there was an effort to alter the inquiry’s scope in a way that minimized the racial and religious motivations behind their abuse.

On Tuesday, Ms. Phillips told MPs that accusations of intentional delays, lack of interest, or attempts to broaden the inquiry’s scope and dilute its focus are unfounded.
