PMQs LIVE: Starmer faces Commons today after promising he’ll lead Labour into the next election

Kemi Badenoch will clash with Keir Starmer at the Commons Despatch box during Prime Minister’s Questions at midday.

The Tory leader could take aim at Rachel Reeves’s handling of the economy, Labour’s immigration reforms or the ballooning welfare bill.

These are all issues which Mrs Badenoch has slammed this week ahead of the weekly clash with the PM.

On immigration, the Tory leader said Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood’s measures do not go far enough, adding that leaving the European Convention on Human Rights was necessary to address soaring immigration.

Mrs Badenoch also warned that allowing the welfare bill to spiral could bankrupt the country and is “not the Christian thing to do”.
