Prince Andrew, now formally Andrew Mountbatten Windsor, has been stripped of his final royal titles, including membership of the Order of the Garter and Knight Grand Cross of the Royal Victorian Order, amid delays to his eviction from the 31-room Royal Lodge until February as he struggles to downsize.
This marks the end of his privileged royal life following scandals linked to Jeffrey Epstein and Virginia Giuffre, a civil settlement in 2022, and the loss of his Duke of York and Prince titles in 2025.
While he retains the honorary vice-admiral rank pending government action, Andrew is set to move to the Sandringham estate, with Sarah Ferguson arranging alternative housing. The Palace emphasises accountability, signalling a clear message about the monarchy’s standards and protecting its future.
