The prime minister has told the Liaison Committee, that briefing – especially against cabinet ministers – is “completely unacceptable, whether that’s from Number 10 or anywhere else”.
He added: “I’ve made that repeatedly clear, to my staff, to the cabinet, I am putting in place a number of procedures, where there have been such allegations, to give me a level of assurance that it has not happened in relation to briefings against ministers and members of the cabinet.”
