‘Brits Have No Protection’ | MP Warns Strangers Can Walk Into Your Home And Police Can’t Stop Them

Independent MP, James McMurdock describes how an Amazon delivery driver lett himself into his home without permission, which shocked him and raised fears about what could have happened if his wife or teenage daughter had been there instead.

He explains that the driver checked the door handle, breathed heavily, and then walked straight inside. When he contacted the police, they tell him that trespass is a civil issue and they cannot act, meaning officers may not attend even when a stranger enters a family’s home.

With many temporary delivery drivers now working, he questions the risks households face and warns that the current law sends the wrong message to anyone with harmful intent.

He calls this situation unacceptable and says he will raise the issue in Parliament, arguing that if the law does not protect people in their own homes, it must be changed.
