GETTING SLURRY ONTO THE SLOPES IS A RISKY & DIFFICULT JOB – HERE IS HOW WE DO IT!!

Its the first slurry spreading of 2026 and we start with some of the steepest fields on the farm battling bad weather and less than suitable ground conditions. Its time for the Massey Ferguson 6290 to come out of hibernation and get on the slurry tanker. With the 590 still out of action, the old 290 and 390T keep everything moving, it never really goes to plan with blocked splash plates, tight gateways, breakdowns and the challenges of farming on serious slopes. I also share an idea I pitched to slurry tanker manufacturers that could make spreading on hillsides much easier—let me know what you think! If you enjoy real farming, classic Massey Ferguson tractors, machinery repairs and honest day-to-day life on the farm, you’re in the right place.
