James O’Brien is joined by Fraser Knight to discuss the aftermath of the Air India flight 171, a Boeing 787 Dreamliner, which has crashed in India.
The plane careened back to earth in the densely populated Meghani area of the city, hitting doctors’ accommodation and a student canteen minutes after leaving the runway at about 1pm local time.
Police have now confirmed that more than 100 bodies have been recovered from the site of the crash. They have been taken to hospital in Ahmedabad.
Pictures have emerged showing chunks of the plane’s fuselage and tail protruding from a demolished building.
