‘How I went from rah rah leftie to attending a Tommy Robinson rally’ | LBC caller

Lucy in Brixton calls Shelagh Fogarty to explain why she went to the Tommy Robinson Unite the Kingdom march.

Lucy says she’s ‘never voted for a party that’s not left-wing’ but her views changed because of the discussions around JK Rowling.

Shelagh asks Lucy whether she knows about Tommy Robinson’s political past and what he stands for.

Keir Starmer, taking to social media, said: “People have a right to peaceful protest. It is core to our country’s values.”

The Prime Minister added: “But we will not stand for assaults on police officers doing their job or for people feeling intimidated on our streets because of their background or the colour of their skin.”
