London migrant hotel protest ERUPTS as huge police turnout escalates tensions
Security has erected a cordon around the Britannia Hotel in Canary Wharf after furious residents protested in the area when it emerged the Government would house asylum seekers there.
The protests were the latest to rock the country after a series of clashes in Epping over migrants being housed in the Bell Hotel.
Confirming the Britannia would be used to house migrants, Tower Hamlets Council said: “We are aware of the Government’s decision to use the Britannia Hotel in Canary Wharf to provide temporary accommodation for asylum seekers.
