Snow blankets Britain as temperatures hit -6C and icy roads spark chaos

SNOW has fallen in London and across the south as bone-chilling temperatures hit the UK.

The mercury fell rapidly overnight with swathes of the country hit by weather warnings issued by the Met Office.
