‘Starmer Has Completely Ruined Our Relationship With Israel’ | Trump Ignores UK In Peace Speech

Mike Graham and David Maddox, Political Editor of The Independent, discuss the UK’s foreign policy, the challenges facing Keir Starmer’s leadership and a lack of respect by western allies.

Mike and David discuss the Gaza peace deal and Britain’s perceived diminished role.

Starmer’s speech on the deal is criticised as sounding like a man “on the outside looking in.” Graham observes that Donald Trump conspicuously avoided mentioning the UK while thanking other nations for their involvement.

Maddox highlights that Starmer’s earlier decision to recognise Palestine as a state may have “completely ruined our relationship with Israel,” reflecting a slide in the UK’s standing on the world stage.

Graham asserts that the UK has been “completely and utterly bypassed” and is no longer seen as a close ally by either the US or Israel, suggesting that Britain should be “ashamed” of its failure to be “front and centre” of such a significant global event.
