The BBC is facing a backlash from its own audience after a massive public consultation revealed viewers think the broadcaster has become less relevant and too focused on “diversity” at the expense of quality.
More than 870,000 people took part in the BBC’s “Our BBC, Our Future” survey — one of the biggest audience consultations in its history.
While many still value the BBC’s role, a clear message came through: the corporation is losing touch with ordinary viewers.
