TOBIAS TEICH: We need a Europe of sovereign nations! | The Weight of Chains Podcast #012

Tonight’s guest is Tobias Teich, Member of the German Bundestag, member of the Bundestag’s Committee on European Union Affairs, and one of the more outspoken voices in German politics when it comes to sovereignty, European integration, migration, and the future of the Balkans.

While much of the German political establishment continues to support the existing international framework in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Tobias Teich has openly questioned whether that model has failed. He has argued that the international protectorate established after Dayton has outlived its purpose, criticized the extraordinary powers exercised by the High Representative, and called for greater respect for the constitutional rights of Republika Srpska and all three constituent peoples.
At the same time, Europe finds itself at a crossroads. Germany is struggling with migration, economic uncertainty, and growing political polarization, while debates over EU enlargement, the future of the Western Balkans, and Europe’s place in an increasingly multipolar world have become more relevant than ever.

Tonight we’ll discuss Germany’s changing political landscape, the future of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the position of Republika Srpska, the role of the European Union in the Balkans, and whether Europe is entering an entirely new political era.
