Voting in Greater Essex, Hampshire & the Solent, Sussex & Brighton, and Norfolk & Suffolk has been rescheduled from May 2026 to 2028, according to Local Government Secretary Steve Reed. Farage and Reform UK are denouncing the decision as a “dictatorial” attempt to prevent Reform candidates from winning, while the government blames “technical reorganisations” and the necessity for new unitary authorities.
