James O’Brien delivers his monologue on the state of England’s water and how decades of mismanagement have left the country with rising bills and polluted rivers.
It comes after UK Environment Secretary Steve Reed said the water regulator Ofwat will be scrapped and replaced to overhaul the “broken” system.
Reed said a new watchdog will “prevent the abuses of the past” and bring water functions from four different regulators into one.
This follows a major review into England and Wales’ troubled water sector which issued 88 recommendations, including abolishing Ofwat.
